Reports emerging tonight indicate that Burkina Faso compelled a Nigerian military aircraft to make an emergency landing after alleging that the aircraft entered its airspace without authorization.

The aircraft reportedly landed at the Bobo-Dioulasso airport in Burkina Faso.

Onboard were eleven Nigerian soldiers, two crew members, and nine other passengers.

One of the leaders of the Burkina Faso military government, Assimi Goïta, confirmed that they have already begun investigating the circumstances that led the Nigerian aircraft to enter their airspace without prior approval.
