I don’t who the original poster is but I will attempt a reason for his thinking. In the 50’s the SE was one of the fastest developing parts of the globe. After the war the benefits of education and communalism didn’t leave us . Somewhere between 1975 and 1998., while development in trading grew., leaders failed to develop the general economy. Opportunities dropped,, and the gospel of marginalization rent the air. A marginalization that excluded commercial growth . It became easier to blame the war .movements sprung up trying to imagine a SE without Nigeria . This attracted the youths, First there were Massob,BNL and finally Ipob. This thinking was one sided and anyone that opposed this was seen as a saboteur .Criminal elements took advantage and tried to create anarchy.. followed by total mismanagement by Buhari. Let me cut it short ., today there is a gradual reversal in thinking by the special grace of God.Some of us thought a Joshua will take over the populist movement.,we didn’t foresee the coming intrusion of a Goliath into the Nigerian polity.Donald Trump, whose threat dismantle political arrangements .If you rewind to last few weeks..the SE governors are struggling to convince the people that they are working.,and even the usual vocal extremists, pleasing the centre are largely quiet. If you also look at the last 3 statements by Ipob.. its shifting grounds to welfarism. This inward look has left many to be frustrated .
However our challenge is how to stop the factors that suddenly gave rise to violence in the youths. How to retain the trillions of naira that come to SE every year.
Expect and understand the occasional outbust by angry extremist from time to time .,they will soon vanish,,I get many of it my self. I do hope this partially explains the situation .
