ISLAM, THE EXPANSION UMBRELLA OF THE CALIPHATE: The indigenous people of Hausa in Northern Nigeria were largely dominated and subjugated when they accepted the Islamic religion. This process was majorly facilitated by the cultural leadership style of monarchy and feudalism, a replica of the medieval belief in the divine rights of kings.

The proponents of that move including the Sultan of Sokoto argued vehemently, that sharia is the right of Muslim ummah, that it has nothing to do with with Christians. It is simply for the administration of social justice to Muslims in southwest. Even though their antecedents in core northern Nigeria were on the contrary. They have not given up on this objective in southwest, because they still have willing local collaborators in that region.
Nevertheless, towards, the end of 2025, the Internet was relentlessly pushing out misleading and phantom Igbo Muslim groups. The push for this non existing Igbo Muslims narratives is to have a justification to demand for sharia legal administration in Igboland.
In the future, the sultan of Sokoto and his collaborators will implicitly start their campaign for sharia implementation for their Muslim Igbo brothers. To make this a reality, is very simple. The national instruments of coercion are in their hands to use.
This is their pattern, this is their strategy. This is also how they want to conquere the rest of Nigerians and make the spread of their sharia a national possibility. There is an established historical method of islamizing a country. This is one of them. Their current strategy might not be the Hausa conquest template but another tested template.
In the final analysis, their local collaborators in different regions of Nigeria should be aware of what they want to import to their regions, because Islam is the expansion umbrella of the Sokoto Caliphate.
