Soludo is named after a deity reputed for aggression hence his attitude

I once asked a simple question about Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s surname, whether “Soludo” means the same thing as “Soroudo,” which many people interpret in Igbo as “follow peace.” Most of the responses I got seemed to agree with that meaning.

However, two people who said they are from the Agụta area of Anambra State shared a different story. According to them, the name Soludo has nothing to do with Soroudo or “follow peace.” Instead, they explained that it is connected to an oracle or deity called Udo that exists in his hometown.

They said the name comes from “Sọ̀ọ̀lù Udo,” which means “to honour” or “show respect to the deity Udo.” In other words, the name is more about reverence for a traditional deity than about peace, as many people have assumed.

So I’m genuinely curious , especially for those from Agụta or those who know the history well, is this truly the original meaning of the name Soludo?./Source igbo histoUdo a male god. If you are preparing for war, attack vengeance and anything has to do with absence of peace, then you invoke it
