A new report by the World Bank has revealed that 87 per cent of the poor Nigerians are Northerners. You may want to dispute the figures but current social indicators cannot point to a different conclusion. The North is the most violent and unsecured of the other regions with security flare-ups everywhere. It is the region that has beggars roaming all over the place looking for food and alms. It is the region where you see millions of children outside the walls of primary school.
