Stop attacking our men, Army tells Anambarians

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA-Brigade), Chief Celestine Anere, has warned that nobody should attack OCHA-Brigade personnel on official assignments, saying that the organization will no longer tolerate such attacks on its operatives anymore.

He said henceforth the organization will deal with whoever attacks any staff of OCHA-Brigade on official duties, stressing that the death of its member in December last year was painful.

He reiterated that nobody should fight OCHA-Brigade personnel while they are doing their job. According to him, apart from the staff who was killed in December last year, Anere recalled that OCHA-Brigade had lost many of its members to similar occurrences but over the years, he said they have been able to stop the ugly trend except for some few occasions.
Anere said,

“We are also telling Ndi-Anambra not to attack OCHA-Brigade personnel on official duties because there will be grave consequences for it. “.

The OCHA-Brigade boss who disclosed that the agency will begin enforcement to totally eliminate street trading at Upper Iweka Onitsha, Onitsha-Owerri road and some other places in the commercial city while ensuring that all the drainages will be desilted

He maintained that staff members of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA-Brigade) have been warned not to collect money from market women and any staff found wanting would be treated as an Agbero.

He said Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo approved recruitment of more personnel for the agency and that currently they have human resources to do their job more effectively and efficiently, adding that a new OCHA-Brigade will emerge henceforth.

He emphasized that the agency now has zero tolerance to improper conduct among personnel in the line of duty and zero tolerance on members of the public attacking OCHA-Brigade officer while carrying out their lawful duties.

Anere appealed that anyone who has complaints against OCHA-Brigade officers shouldn’t take laws into their hands instead they should report to the office and where there are established cases of improper conducts adequate disciplinary actions would be meted out on erring officer
