I like the proposed collaboration between the Nigerian military and the US military to tackle insecurity. It is a combo of strength, skill, juju and technology. These will go a long way in addressing to insecurity in the country and end it’s expansion. The entire West Africa will gain from this.
But there’s an area I’m scared of 😂😂 I don’t want to see American soldiers in our roads tomorrow jointly collecting 100/500 naira from motorists. I don’t want to read from Americans tomorrow, that after this collaboration, their men came home, and start mounting checkpoints in strategic locations and collecting Sha Sha from road users.
I am saying this because our military was not like this. It all started when they were made to go on joint operations with the police. I lamented about this then but it was too late. I remember operation iron gate in Imo that was later changed to search and flush. The skill sharing these operations brought among our force men and their sister agencies, is enormous and symbiotic. Some learnt how to shoot well, while others learnt how to collect sha shaaa from motorists and accused G-Guys./Onyebo Wisdom
