The Hisbah Board in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State has arrested a 35-year-old Christian man and a 26-year-old Muslim woman over alleged cohabitation.
According to reports, the two were living together in the same apartment without being married. Sources said the relationship was consensual.
Hisbah officials described the situation as inappropriate, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, and said action was taken in line with their regulations.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the next legal steps.
