Speaking Wisdom From the Mouth Of A Fulani
Every Nigerian should bow and worship the Fulani. Given what we have achieved in this country, who would believe we only arrived here in 1804?
When we came, the Hausa had their land, the Yoruba had their land, the Igbo had their land. But we managed to bring them all under our grip. Today, almost every politician in Igboland scrambles to have a Fulani godfather. They serve our interests, or they lose their seats. It is that simple.
The case of the Hausa is the most pathetic of all. When we arrived, the land was theirs. The kingdoms were theirs. They controlled the seven Hausa states, including the seven bastard states. But look at what happened. We used them. We played them masterfully. Under the guise of purifying Islam, we erected the Fulani oligarchy on top of their bones. We used them to defeat their own Hausa landlords, and the rest is history. Today, across the entire North, you will not find a Hausa king. You will not find a Hausa governor. You will not find a Hausa emir. They can never produce a sultan. They take pride in answering “Hausa-Fulani,” but the day is coming when we will tell them plainly — you are either Fulani, or you are Hausa. A conquered people cannot permanently cling to the name of those who conquered them.
And the Yoruba? They are our wife. It does not matter what we do or how many people we kị́ll or kiidnap — once the Yoruba are assured of second position behind us, they will look the other way. The truth is, without the Yoruba, none of what we have built in Nigeria would have been possible. We are genuinely grateful to them. How could we have prosecuted the war against Biafra without the Yoruba consenting to fight their fellow Southerners? How could we have removed Goodluck Jonathan without them? How could we have gone after Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and thrown him in a dungeon without Yoruba cooperation? They are comfortable. They trust us. But what they do not understand is that we must finish the others first — so that when their own turn comes, they will be standing completely alone.
And their turn is coming. Ask them what is already happening in Oyo. They are helpless, and far more is on the way. Nigeria is the estate of our forefather, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must dip the Quran in the Atlantic Ocean. That was the vision, and we have not abandoned it.
Nothing will stop us. Our only true stumbling block has been Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. But as Allah would have it, even the men he called his DOS are now fighting him on our behalf. We no longer need to deploy our own people to deal with him. His own inner circle is doing the work for us.
We will take over the forests of the East. Every one of you will submit to Islam — if not today, then tomorrow. We are a patient people, and we know how to use your own sons and daughters to accomplish what your enemies could never accomplish from the outside.
As for the Ijaw, the Efik, the Ibibio — do not worry about them. The moment we whisper to them that the Igbo want to seize their oil, they will hand us everything they own just to keep us as their protectors. They have done it before. They will do it again.
