How Do You Feel When Denied Justice?
The story of Elai and his family in the Bible is revealing and very troubling.
All the victims who were robbed, raped, and abused by Elai’s sons were denied justice because Elai prioritized his public image and love for his children over justice and even over Jehovah, who had called him.
Until God’s judgment came upon those cruel sons of Elai, the victims were labeled liars and enemies of progress. Especially by those who felt Elai’s political opponents must have sent them to prevent Elai from continuing in office. 1Samuel 1-4
As Christians and parents, may God empower us to stand for the truth under His guidance, regardless of who is involved. Some of us are too weak to stand for the truth when our relatives, friends, or political allies are in the wrong. How could we be so weak that God cannot depend on us for truth and justice in a world full of wickedness?
Even if our children, kin, loved ones, or friends are in the wrong, may we always speak for the truth rather than against The Truth. God depends on us to defend the truth and stand for it. That is when we are qualified to represent the Cross of Jesus. Our Christianity should not be diluted because of personalities, as we forget we are placed by God to represent Him, speaking for the poor, the weak, and the voiceless— not just the wealthy and powerful. That’s why He called us the light of the world because of the darkness in the world. The salt of the earth because the earth had lost her taste.
People should be excited whenever we are among the team of judges or in a position to influence an outcome. We should stand for truth. That’s how we become Ambassadors of Christ and the Cross. The truth Light of the world.
Always remember, Elai was a good man, not a liar or an adulterer, but he loved his children, family, and reputation more than the God who appointed him and placed him in that position.
Always remember, Jehovah is a God of justice. He shows no favoritism or partiality.

Beloved, let us ask God for grace to always stand as His ambassadors, representing truth and justice whenever needed. Never forget, justice belongs to God as the Chief Judge— He will never overlook injustice. All through history, we have seen God intervene when Justice isn’t served.
