AK-47 Rifles Recovered as Teenager Leads Police to Suspected Kidnap Camp in Imo
A major security operation in Imo State has uncovered a suspected kidnap hideout deep inside Igbara Forest, Egbema.
According to the Imo State Police Command, suspects led investigators to the camp, where officers reportedly recovered:
- Two AK-47 rifles
- Loaded magazines and ammunition
- Suspected ritual items, including shrines and animal remains
Police also allege the camp was used to hold kidnapped victims while ransom negotiations took place. Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and the suspects’ alleged confessions have not been tested in court.
The discovery has renewed concerns about kidnapping, violent crime, and the reported recruitment of teenagers by criminal gangs.
