Fighting opposition parties in Imo State will not weaken them. If anything, they are more prepared today than ever before. Sending thugs to disrupt their campaign events or destroying their campaign billboards only makes them more popular in the eyes of the people.
My advice to the ruling party is simple: present your scorecard to the people. I am from Ngor Okpala Local Government Area. Show the people of Ngor Okpala the tangible benefits they have received from your administration, and let those achievements speak for you during your campaign. If you have not made any meaningful impact, then allow the people to make their own choice. Do not assume that you can impose any candidate on them.
The same principle applies across Imo State. Let the people decide. Democracy is built on the will of the people, and their voices should be respected.
Politics is not a dirty game. It is the actions of some politicians and the conduct of some citizens that have made it appear dirty in Nigeria. We should all allow our conscience to guide us so that we can build a better society for everyone.
Let opposition parties in Imo State breathe. Let democracy thrive through peaceful, free, and fair political competition.
