One of the tools used to pin Igbo land down after the war in 1970 was the capture of everyone leading in every capacity in Igbo land. The Federal Government of Nigeria made sure no Igbo leader involved during the civil war returned to power after the war. They gave power to people they can trust, people of questionable character, people who are without honour and integrity. People of no character. They are comfortable having them as leaders.
When you put people of questionable character in power, they do your bidding and help you conquer their people. This was how many stubborn people were defeated. Their own was used.
Since after the Biafran civil war to this day, more than 95% of Igbo governors owe their position to one northern godfather or another. And their loyalty remains with the North. These governors help the North groom many individuals who will stand against the Igbo interest. That’s because their daily food depends on that. That’s why we have individuals standing against the interest of ndị Igbo. That’s why we have an Igbo man telling Nigeria government to kị́ll Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The coming of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB has greatly affected this Northern game against our people. For years, the governors have controlled our people and done whatever the North wants. The governors spent 8 years doing nothing without accountability. Because all they need to escape EFCC is doing what the northern godfathers wanted. But the coming of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has rechannelled the loyalty of the people and given them a voice. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu became the voice people loved to hear. He started challenging the governors selling the interest of ndị Igbo. He exposed their games. All the way from London, he called for sit-at-home, and people obeyed.
This hurt the North. And they are gradually losing the grip they have on Ịgbo land through their puppets masquerading as Igbo governors. Once their puppet loses control, they have lost Ịgbo land. They can’t afford to have governors from Ịgbo land who can stand and challenge them. Or senators who will stand their ground against all odds. This is what Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s movement has done to the North. They are at the verge of losing grip of the East, and that’s why they had to commit an international crime to go to Kenya to kidnap Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
