The Chinese are no longer sitting in China waiting for Igbo traders to come and buy. They are bringing the factories to Nigeria.
If you are an Igbo businessman importing 50, 80 or 100 containers of the same product every year, and you are not already thinking about how to manufacture that product in Nigeria, take it from me: you may soon be pushed out of that business.
The next phase of trade is PRODUCTION.
Power is no longer the excuse it used to be. Today, factories can combine the grid with solar, CNG generators and other alternative energy solutions.
We have mastered importation. We have mastered distribution. We have built some of the strongest trading networks in Africa. Now we must master manufacturing.
Instead of importing 80 containers every year, ask yourself: What will it take for me to own the factory producing those 80 containers here in Nigeria?
Think production. Think manufacturing. Think ownership.
Ndi Igbo, think! The market is changing./Hon Anosike Nze on FB
