NDIGBO HAVE ASKED FOR THIS, AND PRESIDENT TINUBU IS MAKING IT HAPPEN
Ndigbo have long called for the urgent transformation and preservation of the First Niger Bridge, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not wasting any moment in making it happen through one of their own, the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON.
Today, the Minister is on ground inspecting the First Niger Bridge, a critical national infrastructure that has served generations but is gradually showing the effects of age and years of use.
This is not just another inspection. We are talking about the transformation, rehabilitation and preservation of the First Niger Bridge, keeping this historic structure alive, strengthening it and ensuring that it continues to serve Nigeria safely and efficiently for many more years.
This is the picture many have been waiting to see: practical leadership meeting a real infrastructure challenge head-on. The focus is not on excuses, but on identifying what needs to be done and taking direct steps to get it done.
Under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, the Federal Government is demonstrating that critical national assets cannot simply be allowed to deteriorate. Roads and bridges that connect communities, support businesses and drive economic activity must be restored, upgraded and built to stand the test of time.
The First Niger Bridge is more than a bridge. It is a major link between the South-East and other parts of Nigeria, a symbol of national connection and an important artery for trade, movement and economic growth.
The message is clear: Nigeria’s infrastructure must work, and it must be built to last.
At the end of it all, the goal is to see Nigerian roads and bridges transformed into modern, durable infrastructure comparable to the best anywhere in the world, including standards seen in Dubai, the United States and the United Kingdom.
With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu providing the political will and Senator Engr. David Umahi driving the execution at the Ministry of Works, the work of restoring Nigeria’s critical road infrastructure is taking a more practical and determined direction.
The First Niger Bridge will not be allowed to become a shadow of its former self. It will be renewed, strengthened and kept alive for the generations to come.
