Reverse-engineer the $9 million lobby effort and the picture is unmistakable.
In December 2025, Tinubu’s government — through National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Kaduna law firm Aster Legal — hired Washington’s DCI Group at $750,000 a month. The FARA filing said the assignment was to tell America that Nigeria is protecting Christians and fighting jihadists. What they actually built was @SecureNigeriaHQ: a paid account that barely speaks to Nigerians and speaks constantly to Washington.
Read that feed from the beginning. It is not a security briefing. It is a firewall. The word “genocide” must die. The violence must become “complex,” “indiscriminate,” “land disputes,” “banditry that affects all faiths.” Mosque kidnappings are waved as proof the targeting is a myth. At the same time, every serious critic is smeared as a Biafran asset, a paid activist, or an enemy of Trump’s counterterrorism partnership. The point is not to describe the burned churches. The point is to make the evidence radioactive so Republicans will not touch it.
Watch who they attack. Not the raiders. Not the occupiers. The Americans who can make Trump stop believing the script: members of Congress who can sanction officials and condition aid, the rival lobby circulating Tinubu’s 1990s Chicago file, former diplomats who give South-East grievances a respectable room, and the field witnesses who were in the camps before the contract existed.
A documented review of that paid account found one critic hit more than any other: Mike Arnold.
Why him? Because he is the one they cannot file away. He is not a Biafran separatist they can brand as IPOB. He is not a Democrat they can dismiss as hostile to Trump. He is an American Christian, a former Texas mayor, a man with sixteen years on the ground in destroyed villages and IDP camps, and the person who stood at their own Abuja press conference in October 2025 and refused to play the stooge. That event helped flip the global narrative and pull presidential attention onto the killings. After that, he kept putting field evidence in front of Congress and conservative media — the raids, the occupancy of Christian land, the churches, the ratios — in a language Washington already understands.
That combination is what the $9 million machine is built to neutralize. If Arnold is “paid,” “unhinged,” or secretly working for breakup, then the villages can be ignored again. If he cannot be discredited, the partnership story collapses: Tinubu is no longer Trump’s partner protecting Christians. He is the head of a government spending a fortune to stop America from naming what is happening.
Governments do not spend that kind of money to correct a misunderstanding. They spend it when the truth is close enough to cost them power, legitimacy, and the American right. That is what Tinubu fears most — not another massacre in the dark, but the witness who already made the dark visible, and who still has a path to the only capital that can make the label stick.
