Rhetorics or Populism : Can Yorubas be trusted? asks ex Senate President

IGBOS AND YORUBAS must have an agreement before we can consider what Senator Anyim Pius Anyim said.

Without that agreement, we cannot give his words a second thought.

Senator Anyim said that Igbos should allow (or you may say Igbos should “vote”) for Tinubu to finish his second tenure, so that after the north had finished their 8yrs subsequently, when power eventually returns to the south, it would be the exclusive turn of the south east to produce the president.

From a distant look, that sounds like a reasonable projection. But there is a fundamental issue there.

The issue is whether Yorubas will agree that when power eventually returns to the south, it would be the exclusive turn of the south east to produce the president, especially seeing that the south west have already taken two bites at the cherry?

You can see that Obasanjo who is from the west, has taken a full bite. Tinubu has also taken a bite.

So, when power returns to the south, will Yorubas be civil enough to let the south east have their undisputed turn, or will the spirit of Atiku – running nonstop – not possess them?

Can Yorubas be trusted?
