3 things we learned in the match between Seychelles and Nigeria

Nigeria played Seychelles on Saturday winning 3:0 against the Gavin Jeanne team. While there was complains about the playing surface, the super eagles were able to hold their own against Island nation.

This is what we learned from the must win match for Nigeria.

  1. Moses who?: Nigeria are not missing the absense of Victor Moses from the national team. After retiring at an early age, a lot of people expected Nigeria to find it difficult to replace the winger but with the showings by his replacements, Victor Moses name will soon be forgotten from the minds of Nigerians.
  2. Samuel Kalu: If you are asking why Nigerians are finding it easy post-Victor-Moses era, this player is the answer. The FC Girondins de Bordeaux number 10 has made Moses role his own on his debut match. There are more matches against bigger teams that will test his mentality but if he continue to play like this, he will eclipse Moses within 2 years.
  3. Ahmed Musa is important: You thought he was finished? We thought so too. The player that couldn’t get play time last season is not allowing rustiness to affect his match for Nigeria. Ahmed Musa still has a lot to offer Nigeria.
