Farmers of this country, since independence, have never experienced what they are experiencing today. I produce yams, rice, beans, maize and sorghum, but I use fertiliser. Today, 100 kilograms of maize or sorghum costs less than one bag of fertiliser.
Fertiliser now sells for between N45,000 and N60,000 in some places, while 100kg of maize, if you are lucky, goes for about N40,000. This kills agriculture completely.
