The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge before the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, against social media blogger Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as @justadetoun, over alleged cyberbullying, false accusations, and other offences bordering on the Cybercrimes Act.
According to the Command, the suspect was invited on January 2, 2026, to respond to allegations arising from her online publications targeted at the Ogun State Government and the Governor. She, however, failed to honour the invitation, claiming through her lawyer that she was medically indisposed. A medical report was submitted in support of this claim.
Discreet investigations by the Police later established that the medical report was false. The doctor who issued it was arrested and reportedly admitted that the document was fabricated at the instruction of the suspect, following a phone conversation facilitated by her lawyer. The doctor has since been arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court on charges including conspiracy, uttering a false document, and obstruction of justice.
The Police further disclosed that Adetoun Onajobi has remained evasive, ignored subsequent invitations, and that her current whereabouts are unknown. The Command says it is intensifying efforts to apprehend her and bring her before the court to answer the charges already filed.
In the statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babas eyi, reaffirmed that the Command remains resolute in tackling all forms of crime, including digital offences, while stressing that although freedom of expression is constitutionally guaranteed, it does not provide immunity for criminal conduct.
