Impending dísástèr for the people of Orsu.
We’re getting reports about the planned withdrawal of troops and draw down of operations at the ongoing operation in Orsuihiteukwa.
All efforts put into the recapture of the Mother Valley would have been a waste if this is allowed to happen. There’s no force set up in place for the occupation of the recovered territories and most of these IPOB ESN bandîts escaped to different locations which are yet to be cleared. It would be self defeating if this operation is brought to an abrupt end.
The only factor that could be behind this would be funding. This is not a problem the FG cannot plug. We’re pleading for help from the FG to sustain this operation till the next three months at least. In that time, the affected communities would have been able to set up their own security, because the existing measures aren’t working for sure.
The HQ Nigerian Army and the other branches of the military the Nigeria Police Force should be given all the necessary funding to sustain this operation.
If ever there’s need for downsizing, let the DSS be withdrawn, alongside the NSCDC. They’re not going to negatively impact the Orsu operation if they’re withdrawn.
