Your Excellency,

It is with great honour and joy that we welcome you to Ogun State on this historic state visit. We appreciate your commitment to the development of our nation, particularly your focus on the grassroots people.

As you visit our state, we acknowledge the efforts of our governor and commend him for notable achievements, including the completion of the Gateway Airport, the provision of 1000 bikes, and the fleet of ambulances ready for commissioning today.

While we celebrate these milestones, we humbly bring to your attention the pressing need for improved roads in our state. Good roads are the lifeblood of any economy, and without them, even the best achievements can be undermined. The bikes and ambulances, though welcome, will soon wear out on our poor roads. We have more road users than air travellers, and it’s imperative that we prioritize this critical infrastructure.

Sir, we urge you to support our call for good roads and financial autonomy for local governments, enabling them to address their unique needs and accelerate development.

Once again, we rejoice with our governor on these achievements and thank you, Mr. President, for gracing our state with your presence. We trust that your visit will mark a new era of progress and prosperity for Ogun State.

Yours sincerely,

Olawoye B Kayode
