Based on reports from early May 2026, armed individuals, described as a seven-man gang of kidnappers, invaded the Army Post Service Housing Estate in Kurudu, Abuja, on a Thursday night. Security forces, including military and police, engaged the invaders in a shootout, resulting in one kidnapper being killed, while others fled with bullet wounds
