Former Chairman of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Prof. Sam Amadi, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 Imo State Governorship election.
A strong supporter of Peter Obi, Amadi made the announcement in a video on X. He turned down pressure to run for Imo East Senatorial District, saying he wants to continue the mission of transformative, pragmatic and honest leadership for the economic and technological growth of Imo State.
He will be contesting under the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
