TRANSFORM BRAIN DRAIN TO BRAIN GAIN– PETER OBI

His Excellency Dr. Peter Obi on his recent visit to South Africa and during a Town Hall meeting in Johannesburg encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to return home 🏡
He further explained in details that the much talk about “Brain Drain” could actually be transformed to “Brain Gain” for the benefit of the country.
To this end, he advised that those in the diaspora who have acquired vast knowledge in various industries should return home to apply them for the growth and development of their country, be it in private or public sector.
He gave examples of how some of his Asian course mates in Oxford university, Cambridge university and Kellogg USA 🇺🇸 amongst other institutions he had attended, subsequently returned home after they had completed their studies, in order to add value to the growth and development programs and wealth creating opportunities in their respective countries.
ON THE ISSUE OF THE XENOPHOBIC ATTACKS ON FOREIGNERS IN SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦
Dr Peter Obi frowned at the attacks on fellow humans and informed the Nigerian community in South Africa about his meetings with three South African Cabinet Ministers, Ex President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa 🇿🇦 and Ex President Ian Karmah of Botswana 🇧🇼
While responding to why Nigerian government seems to have neglected its citizens in South Africa in the face of the ongoing xenophobic attacks and the seemingly silence of the South African government thereto, he said that; the way and manner a host government treats foreigners in their country is reflective of how their own government treats and regards them back home 🏡
He however urged those who can make their way back home to do so without further delay. He further advised, given the experiences they had acquired abroad, that there are several businesses they could venture into upon their return. That Nigeria needs them, he emphasized.
