SECURITY UPDATE FROM BENIN GRA 🚨

For weeks now, I’ve been seeing two policemen permanently stationed at Golf Course Road Junction in GRA Benin, right beside the giant flex banner of President Tinubu.
At first, I thought there was a bank nearby.
Then I thought maybe a VIP lived around there.
Today, curiosity got the better of me, so I stopped to take a closer look.
My findings?
The officers were peacefully sleeping under the scorching Benin sun while guarding the banner. Not a government building. Not a school. Not a hospital.
A flex banner. 😭
Imagine explaining this to someone:
“What are you protecting, officer?”
“Mr. President’s photograph, sir.”
The same police force we complain is overstretched protecting lives and property is now apparently on anti-banner-vandalism duty.
To be fair, whoever keeps defacing that banner must have given somebody sleepless nights. Perhaps seeing the President’s face repeatedly altered just a stone’s throw from Government House became too embarrassing to ignore.
So now the banner has its own security detail.
At this rate, the next promotion in the police force may be:
Assistant Commissioner of Flex Banner Protection. 😂
But serious question:
Is this the new strategy for securing 2.5 million votes?
Because if campaign posters now require armed protection, maybe the votes need even more security. 🤔
