Before Monkey hand becomes human hand…I still hold Adeyeye of NAFDAC responsible for mismanaging this EMZOR issue to look ethnic.
1. You can google it yourself…the news about the closure firs came around 5 am ..at least 4 hours before the first NAFDAC officer was sighted in the Aswani Rd Office of the company.
2.NAFDAC officers came as expected with armed soldiers…so where is the concept of resistance come from?
3.I personally rechecked …Emzor’s capacity to produce the cough syrup is under 100,000 bottles per week. As against the consumption of 3.2 Million bottles by two states daily in the north
Someone along the line is enjoying the ethnic direction the whole thing is taking…the standard procedure should be followed professionally.
The company has abided by all the rules and regulations of NAFDAC,But as a nation we have decided that we dont want codeine in cough syrup again. Haba.We have the right to do that and i praise the government.
But we must not damage businesses in the course of correction of a national problem other wise the real culprits will cover their tracks and we will end up finding the corpses of more youths by the side walk. if you have not seen a youth dying from drugs…you cant understand.
As a corrective measure…firstly the licenced unused quantity of codiene should be quarantined either for re export or destruction.if it is to be destroyed..it has to be valued and NAFDAC and Emzor will work out a compensation…since its legal import.
NAFDAC officials spent about four hours in the plant and sealed the factory only, but stopped lines producing other syrups as well. Obviously along the line some one in the team told the wold they intended to shut down Emzor for good.
NAFDAC owes the nation the responsibility of a quick report of their action. if they think Emzor in violation any regulation..let them state it clearly. I doubt if they will ever say that. If not, open the factory before Friday.
The last thing we want is what their disjointed body language is saying to the majority of Igbos, that Emzor is a victim of IGBO DISCRIMINATION.
