Former Sokoto governor Attahiru Bafarawa, who is now an aspirant for the presidential ticket under the People Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that he would not leave the party even if he loses in the primary election.
“I will remain in the PDP even if I do not emerge it’s presidential flag bearer; as a true democrat, I allow the people will to prevail. In every race, there is always a winner and a loser” Bafarawa said on Monday in Minna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Alhaji Bafarawa spoke at the meeting with the Niger State delegates of the party agent of the October 5 – 6 PDP National Party Convention.
He stated that he is a true democrat and believes in playing according to the rules of the game. With this statement, Alhaji Bafarawa is showing that he is not a desperate politician.
A lot of politicians move from one party to another to become governor or president. If what Bafarawa said is to be believed, then he is a pioneer.
