The race leading to Alausa’s top job has continued to receive boost with the entrance of top political weights across political parties ahead of Lagos 2019 Governorship election.
WAILERSNG.com learnt that all is set for the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Muiz Banire (SAN) and Mr Supo Shashore to formally launch their governorship campaign to battle the incumbent governor Ambode which they consider as not fit to continue ruling the State over his many political blunders. To opposing faction in APC, Ambode is considered to be a stooge being used by a certain political power bloc to milk Lagos dry, which they are reportedly ready to fight till stand still in 2019.
Our correspondent also gathered that the Ikorodu born politician, and real estate guru, Mr Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi (BOG) who was one of the aspirants alongside Mr Jimi Agbaje and Senator Obanikoro under the platform of PDP during the 2015 election is also set to stage a massive roll out of his campaign, this time under a relatively new but a formidable National political Platform, Action Democratic Party (ADP).
Mr Babatunde is said to be considering the governorship bid under ADP, sensing that Nigerians most especially Lagosians may no longer fancy both the PDP and APC. In an exclusive interview granted to NAIJ.com some few months ago, Mr Babatunde is of the opinion that Lagos state can be far better that what it is today with a committed and visionary leader. According to him, his political party will match their manifestos with actions, stating that a Lagos where majority will be prosperous is possible, although he said when the campaign Kicks off after getting the ticket to run under ADP, he will make his strategies for a new and better Lagos public.
Mr Muize Banire according to a source said that he is ready to match the governor and his sponsors naira for naira within APC, that he is ready to spend heavily to prosecute the 2019 election, he has reportedly vowed that he will never allow Imposition of candidate which seems to be the tradition of his party APC by a known political figure in the state, that the governor must also stand for primaries just like other aspirants, affirming that being the governor of the state does not mean an automatic ticket for him. He said, if the same set of leaders who love to impose candidates in Lagos can be asking for Primary election for Presidency, same should be applicable to Lagos.
WAILERSNG.com can also report that there seems to be a crack within Lagos APC which may soon become open to all as different factions are already scheming to take over the control of the party. For instance, in Lagos West, Mr Musiliu Obanikoro who recently defected to APC and the a serving Senator, Solomon Adeola are putting up a serious fight with so many other similar cases across the party in the State.
For Mr BOG, according to a source, said that the party he is going to run under, Action Democratic Party (ADP) is growing tremendously across the state with solid structures springing up all over the state, he is seems to be the most focused aspirant right now, although the PDP is yet to name any aspirant since the party may not be able to pull any significant political fight in 2019 due to crisis and infighting. PDP may also not be attractive to aspirants unlike in the time past where they solely rely on campaign funds from Aso Rock.
