I voted for PMB because I thought he was a visionary who would liberate his own people from self-imposed penury to abundance. I thought he would use his PTF experience to modernize our federal highways into 8-lane fabricated cement roads we see in western movies. I thought he would collapsed our adultrated federal system and restore it to what it was meant to be. I thought he would turn our consulting clinics that general and university teaching hospitals have become into world standard reference hospitals. I thought he would replace our narrow/standard guage railway with modern speed train system. I thought he would reform our decayed university education and make it the pride of every Nigerian. Above all, I thought his zero tolerance for corruption would make all corrupt public officials take a retreat and surrender their stolen assets. After almost three years, PMB has not met my expectations. He has dissappointed me! The last straw that broke the camel’s back in my covenant with Buhari, is his poor handling of the Fulani herders/farmers conflict wihch was supposed to be his specialty as a practising farmer/herder and fulani man.
If the middle belt and other regions have rejected grazing reserves and cattle colonies, why can’t Buhari’s advisers tell him to establish them in the North West where he comes from? Why can’t his administration do pilot projects in Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara and Kaduna? I’m sure if they succeed in that region other regions may follow suit. I see alot of opportunities in cattle colonies, including new businesses, employment and income generation. It may turn out to be the North’s own oil.
