: RESTORING NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC IDEAL AND VOTERS CONFIDENCE!

The duty to save our democratic future is the responsibility of every Nigerian. Our political, ethnic or religious divide are immaterial right now.
We may have an equal great future if we remain on our sound democratic ideals where elections and votes counts but the worst could happen should we further devalue our Democracy.
I grew up in Nigeria when my Countrymen endlessly struggled with the military govt and Soldiers who militarized almost everything in our country. These guys with their military Unitary ideology brought everything governance under their care with no input from the citizens.

That alone dealt so much blows to our Democractic ideals. Such noble Democratic ideals was dwarfed while Our National economic struggle while we wobbled along the part.
We were in some of the times on the wrong side before International communities as we were saddled with huge debt with no concrete roadmap on repayment plans. We were constantly regarded as potential great Nation. But that how far we could go.
While I shall not want to bother us with the litany’s of what transpired during the military and how we had few men who struggled to place Nigeria on the part of Democracy and free Our Country from any draconian leadership theory, it is on record how some of these men had to pay the ultimate prize for dreaming Freedom, Questioning the Military Juntas and calling for a free democratic Nigeria amidst chains and near slavery.

Our today’s worry should be how some of the then Apostles of Democracy has suddenly become agents of tyranny? What could have been the reason behind this transformation today? Please don’t remind us of the NADECO apostles who brought the then military govt to its feet.

While even some of these folks still claim to be fighting to entrench Democracy but todays result makes it obvious these men are well Positioned to tear down the same Democracy they all fought for in the past.. What made the dogs return to their vomit?
I shall only seek to invoke or rather reawaken the Democractic spirit amongst Nigerians today.

In the face of election credibility Allegations of Intimidation and shortchanging the citizens in an election. This would only return us back to the jungle where our Democracy will shrink..
With the above lines, I wish to have convinced you the task of restoring our Democractic confidence and it’s healthy ideals begins with you..
Had the likes of Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Fela etc failed in their bid or put on the I DONT CARE attitude We shall not have the present President today as an elected democratic President.. Or have the likes of Fmr President Olusegun Obasanjo who paid paid off our National debt with his team and got us out of the breetenwoods claws.
Today this duty is not the duty of anyone but you…should you admire otherwise, we may never avoid the consequences, which is asasinating Democracy on the laps of its today’s greatest beneficiaries and operators..
This task is urgent and very important….Godwin NdidiAmaka ROBINSON
