The strategy of drawing the attention of the world to rigging in Nigeria ahead of 2019
Senate President Bukola Saraki, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Uche Secondus, Emeka Ihedioha, and other leaders of the PDP on Friday in Abuja embarked on a protest from Wadata House to INEC headquarters in Maitama to protest against the outcome of the recent Osun state governorship election and to demand for the continued independence of INEC.
In his words…Saraki says
Today, I joined other leaders of our great party @OfficialPDPNig, on a protest from our party headquarters to @INECNigeria to protest against the outcome of the Osun State election and to demand for the continued independence of INEC.
I have just been teargassed by the @PoliceNG at @inecnigeria office. Gunshots have been fired. This was a d still is a peaceful protest. How can I be treated like this in a country I have fought for and invested in? This is madness, I came with words they answered with bullets!

Join me at @inecnigeria’s office where I am currently leading a protest against the Osun election robbery that was perpetrated against the @OfficialPDPNig candidate Senator @IsiakaAdeleke1. We will peacefully struggle to get his stolen mandate restored to him. pic.twitter.com/gpZvGPG6Ih

This is the video as best as we could get in the circumstances. We have a democratic right to peaceful protest and freedom of association. This act is unconscionable in a democracy. pic.twitter.com/wxmY9wWvFE
