POLITICAL SUPPORT THEORY
Nigerians today Cleave to their Absolute Support or Absolute Rejection ideology.
Some citizens who supported PMB & hurled stones at GEJ, thinks he has lost his right to stand against PMB’S government policies in anyway even though these supporters were unaware of the covet inent of these prospective policies at inception.
Some folks that suspect his honesty in the recent struggle could be that he may have been bought for a fee by some folks. In all these, the coming days would reveal Omoyele’s conviction on this matter.
However It should be a concern to all of us as to why those who supported you today should lose their rights to question your activities tomorrow. It boils down to conviction.
Where then is the place for democracy and accountability and good governance which has constantly been impeded by some factors especially political party negotiations and trade off?
Are we now of the opinion that men are perfect and are above questioning and corrections and our opinions about people should always be the same regardless of human variability amidst changing factors?
If you support the above assertion, history maybe unfair to you if we have to dig up some past opinions of today’s PMB’S supporters, including those who served during Obasanjo’s and Jagaban’s government. I don’t want to go into El Rufai’s previous opinion on the PMB’s Presidency.
Why can’t we continue this move keeping quiet on folks who once earned our support because we don’t want to be seen as though we didn’t plan our priorities right before setting out. We must be able to question what they do tomorrow. If we fail do so, we would simply be drifting in the direction of Iran, North Korea or China.
These are not democratic state to be proud of.
If we are going to stand by this notion, what sort of democracy are we expected to arrive at based on such practice?
