Nobel playwright, Professor Wole Soyinka is set to visit the United States of America for the first time since he publicly said he had torn his US green card.
The octogenarian had declared he would tear his green card if Donald Trump became the president of the United States of America.
The Nobel laureate will be delivering the Richard D. Cohen Lectures at Harvard University Centre for African Studies from November 14 to November 16.
It is unclear whether he will be traveling with his ‘torn’ green card.
In an interview with Financial Times of London published at the weekend Soyinka said, “I’ll go in as an alien, an alien from outer space. I love that designation,” The lectures will be in three parts, under the theme: ‘BEYOND AESTHETICS: Use, Abuse and Dissonance in African Art Traditions’.
