The Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, says that the Federal Government is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Boeing on the establishment of a national carrier for Nigeria.
Sirika, in his tweet on his handle, @hadisirika, on Thursday said the MoU would be signed during the forthcoming Third ICAO World Aviation Forum in Abuja.
The minister also disclosed that Airbus of France had indicated interest in partnering with the government on the proposed carrier and establishment of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility in the country.
So its clear that for once Buhari had an excellent idea which they destroyed ..now they are totally confused.
When he came into power he wanted only to keep two/three planes and donate the rest to form a new Nigeria Airways. Maybe i can retrieve the post.I saluted the sacrifice but questioned the concept of a public sector run national airline. Nigeria Airways and Air Nigeria disaster are too close to mind.
Some party members immediately dissuaded him and he dropped the idea of converting the planes….instead he acquired another one.
Today the same government is now on its knees begging Boeing and Airbus to help establish a national airline.
In simple words…put a label reading Nigeria Airways on a handful of planes. We take a few pictures…Running around in circles
