PAMTECH DISCLAIMER

When I travelled to Owerri in December 2025 with my family, I needed mobility services and I quickly chatted a number saved on my phone as Pamtech Ride. I think I got the number in 2024 or so when I travelled to Owerri and needed same services. So instead of chatting the CEO again, I simply chatted the number he gave me back then for car hire services.

After our discussions on which car to hire, I asked for account number and he sent me an account bearing an individual’s name. I immediately paused. Why should Pamtech Ride be sending me an individual’s account number for payment, and I don’t know the face or person behind that number.

I immediately chatted Pamtech CEO and told him his people sent me a personal account number when I was about paying for an SUV.

His first response was a disclaimer: “pls not us oh”

He further asked to see the account number I was given and I forwarded the account to him. Next thing he said

“Pls don’t oohh”

He went ahead to send me another number which I deleted the old number and saved the new one as Pamtech Ride. I went ahead and booked a car, paid to a Pamtech account and they sent a driver the next day as per our arrangements.

It seems Pamtech Staff have actually been leaving to start the same business he has been doing or employed them to do (nothing wrong with that superficially) but let me tell you the painful part: most of this guys leave with the customers of the original business. I’m in a line of business where many of my colleagues who employed staff later regretted because those staff left and kept acting under the name and manner of their boss.
In one unique instance, my friend gave his customers his PA’s number, and told them they can trade with that number too, it’s his number, and the customers kept trading with his PA. Unknown to my guy, his PA one day introduced another number to some particular big customers. Those customers got diverted to the new number which by the way also belonged to the PA or his Assign.

One day, my guy was reluctantly telling a particular customer that he doesn’t traded with them for long. The customers said he trades every week o. He even traded yesterday.
My guy said, Let me see the number you traded with. That’s how the guy said see the number na. You are the one who once gave me this number and said I should no longer be trading with your other number (PA’s number)

For a business as big as Pamtech, many people will contact them for deals because they feel they are dealing with Pamtech. So if a staff is no longer working with Pamtech, a disclaimer is appropriate.

And in this case, the tone of the disclaimer is what some people find as overly expository. It exposes the fact that the company had a fall out with the staff in question.

Some people said Engr. Chidomere should have bid her farewell, thanked her for her services while with him and wished her well in her new business. I don’t think this emotional inputs are within the scope of that disclaimer. I do not necessarily see anything wrong in issuing such a disclaimer.

I know Juliet as a legitimate person, and I know she won’t run with my money and if I have a business with her, I’ll still go ahead and run it regardless of the disclaimer unlike the Pamtech Ride guy whose face I didn’t know or knew nothing about the person behind the number. I had to solely rely on Pamtech CEO’s approval to deal with him or not.

This is what will happen to several other people who don’t know Juliet or know where to catch her if anything goes wrong. That disclaimer will help them reconsider their intention to deal with her thinking they dealing with an address named Pamtech. If someone is coming to you for business because of the name Pamtech, it’s only appropriate that such business should go to Pamtech and this are the people Pamtech will manage to retain with that disclaimer

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
