ISWAP fighters launched an unsuccessful attack on troops of Headquarters 29 Task Force Brigade on April 16, 2026, in Benisheikh, Kaga LGA of Borno State.
It should be noted that ISWAP carried out a similar attack two weeks ago in Benisheikh and Ngamdu, where they breached the 29 Task Force Brigade and killed a Commanding Officer.
The terrorists launched their assault at about 8:30 am. This time however they were met with fierce resistance from troops, who engaged them in a firefight, forcing a retreat, with troops in hot pursuit.
