Obinze is very cosmopolitan with a huge settler community . This consist of large Hausa / Fulani’s settled around the Army barracks , the cattle market , and the trailer park . You also have other Nigerian of various groups resident in the locality mainly staff of Futo and other federal goverment establishments.
The General sentiment with the locals is that the Apc goverment has done ok locally but at the federal level there are concerns of nepotism , fuel prices and the general erosion of their wages . There is also a growing resentment amongst the Hausa community in this regard . Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are seen as possible alternatives .
