In Onitsha, one of the state’s major commercial hubs, business activities remained noticeably low on Monday morning and afternoon. Popular areas such as Upper Iweka, usually known for heavy traffic and commercial movement, appeared unusually deserted around 11 a.m. when this photograph was taken.

Few or no vehicles were seen on major roads, while several transport companies reportedly failed to operate despite the state government’s directive mandating transport operators and businesses to resume Monday operations or face possible sanctions.

A similar situation was also observed in various markets across Onitsha, where many shops remained closed and only a handful of traders opened for business.

The development highlights the continued impact of the Monday sit-at-home exercise on commercial activities in parts of Anambra State despite government efforts to discourage compliance.
