The United Igbo Elders Council (UNIEC) Worldwide has announced the induction and investiture of Chief Dr. Barr. Engr. Obioma Success Akagburuonye (JP) on Sunday, 22 February 2026, in a ceremony that will also mark his 60th Diamond Birthday Celebrations.

At the event, Chief Akagburuonye will be inducted as a Member, Board of Trustees (BoT) / National Life Patron of UNIEC Worldwide, and invested as Chairman, Board of Directors of Igbo Think-Home Investment and Development Ltd, the custodian of the Igbo Think-Home Investment and Development Philosophy.

The ceremony is expected to attract top dignitaries from across Nigeria and the Diaspora, and will include the formal presentation of the UNIEC Worldwide Certificate of Honour.

According to UNIEC Worldwide, the honours recognise Chief Akagburuonye’s outstanding contributions to Igboland’s development, his commitment to human capital growth, and his consistent advocacy of home-based investment and sustainable development.

QChief Akagburuonye, a lawyer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist from Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, has interests spanning law, engineering, real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, security, and finance, with many investments strategically located in Igboland. His landmark legal victory in Obioma v. Nigeria (2005) contributed to national prison decongestion and justice reform.

UNIEC Worldwide described him as a faith-driven leader whose life reflects resilience, integrity, and enduring service to humanity, noting that the induction and investiture further strengthen the institutional drive for Igbo unity, investment, and sustainable development.
