Trouble brewing at the altar . As OPM and RCCG gird loins for battle over Land

I never wanted to bring this here, but this has become my last option after every other effort failed.

I had hoped that some respected persons would speak to those concerned, believing they might reconsider.

There is a property in Marine Base that I purchased using tithes and offerings from OPM Church.

This decision was made after discovering that many children living in and around Marine Base were not attending school.

OPM Church already purchased a property where the OPM Marine Base Branch is currently operating. However, we needed an additional property to establish a free school for the children in the area.

It is now almost one year since we bought the property intended for the free school, yet we have not been able to take possession of it.

Why?

Because a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is currently occupying the property.

Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)
is a church I respect so much and Pastor E.A Adeboye is a father of faith I love so much. For this my actions were guided with love and respect.

The property was sold openly and that was what drew OPM’s attention.

Please note, before the property was bought, OPM delegates led by Pastor Udoka went to inspect the building and also met with the branch pastor to inform him we’re about to buy the property and if they’re interested already so we could withdraw. But his reply was “we’re not buying it and OPM can go ahead to purchase the property”.
The branch pastor also assured us that if we buy the property they’ll relocate.

It was also in our knowledge that the landlord stopped collecting rents from the RCCG occupants ever since he put the property for sale.

Their rent had already expired before we purchased the property, yet the branch pastor has refused to vacate the premises.

Since last year, we have pleaded repeatedly and have been given several promises of “today” and “tomorrow,” but nothing has changed.

Because this involves a church, we have avoided involving the police. We believe it is not proper for law enforcement to settle disputes involving the house of God, and we do not want to force anyone out.

In the spirit of peace, we negotiated with them, and they requested ₦1 million to assist their relocation. We gladly paid the amount, but unfortunately, they collected the money and still refused to move out.

My greatest concern is for the hundreds of children in Marine Base who are not in school and have been waiting for OPM to begin this free school project. It has now been almost a year, and it appears as though we made promises to them that we could not fulfill.

Therefore, I humbly appeal to anyone who knows the pastor of the RCCG Marine Base Branch to please speak with him and plead on our behalf to vacate the property, so we can begin providing free education to these poor children.

This is my last option.

Even the landlord has pleaded, but he has continued to refuse to move.

Thank you, and God bless you.

This tussle is reportedly going on in Port Harcourt.
