100 level student Of Madonna University dies after physical assault over effeminate mannerisms and alleged gay suspicion
A 100 level student of Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, William Fubara, has died following reports of alleged repeated bullying and physical assault by fellow students.
According to accounts shared by friends and circulating online, Fubara was allegedly subjected to repeated harassment over a period of months, with claims that he was targeted due to his perceived feminine mannerisms. Some sources also allege that similar incidents of intimidation and phone searches of students suspected of being gay had occurred within the hostel environment in the past, though these claims remain unverified.
Friends of the deceased further insist that they have messages, testimonies, and other personal accounts allegedly recorded by Fubara before his death, detailing his experiences and identifying individuals he believed were involved in his harassment.
It was also alleged that in previous incidents within the school environment, some students had been disciplined or suspended following accusations of harassment involving other students, though the full details of those cases remain unclear.
Fubara was reportedly hospitalized after developing severe medical complications, including repeated seizure episodes, before being admitted into intensive care, where he later died.
The university is said to have commenced internal investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death
