South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has pushed back against allegations of xenophobia, less than 12 hours after members of the Nigerian Senate reportedly threatened to boycott MTN and other South African businesses operating in Nigeria.

Speaking during a parliamentary session addressing renewed tensions over attacks on foreign nationals, Ramaphosa said,“South Africans are not against people from other nations. We are one people. We’re not xenophobic.”
